Sugar Cane Giveaway (CLOSED)

Emma is owner of the Sucar Cane on Etsy. Sugar Cane is a shop where you will always find lots of sweet one of a kind beautiful bags and purses. All items are handmade with care and love and designed to be unique, beautiful, practical and super fun.

She says:"My passion for handbags drove me to learn how to make them and now I love making bags of all shapes and sizes. Its a bit of an obsession, I 'm always thinking about new bag designs; I enjoy the creative challenge of bringing my ideas to life, into the 3D world. I like to make use of gorgeous, unusual, and happy fabrics and other bits & bobs to create bags and purses that are beautiful, unique, fun, practical and well made all in equal measures and that you would love own."

Where does your shop name come from?

From the film Some Like it Hot Marilyn Monroe's character Sugar Cane, one of my favorite movies.

For how long have you been sewing and making jewelry? How and why did you start? 

I've been making bags & purses since 2004, I first learnt to make bags from http://www.craftster.org around the same time http://www.etsy.com started and it went on from there.

Don´t you just love the fabrics she is using?

Where do you get your inspiration/ideas for the things in your shop?

I love all things to do with Japan, very into Kawaii things. I love to use fabric from Japan, great design and good quality fabrics. My designs are mostly thought up before I go to sleep at night, I like to do something different from others.

If you had to choose just one favorite item in your shop, what would it be and why?

My favorite design is the Multi Pocket Pouch, the first prototype I use myself everyday its the perfect pouch for coins & cards.
