tt Winner of the last Treasure Thursday and 3SistersLove 2010 Calendar is:

Congratulations va! *Please send me your shipping address in 24 hours, or I have to draw a new winner.*
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Today I will introduce to you Jann and Jeff who are the heart of 2ReVert. I read about them in a  Spanish magazine. They work with old, used, recycled skateboards it seemed so interesting, that I had to get to know them better. Now, you have this chance too :)

image

Where does your shop name come from?
"2ReVert" has many meanings for the both of us (Jann & Jeff), the number 2 because there is two of us, 'revert' is a skateboarding term, as well as the usual meaning to redo something, etc. Also, vert is green in French. It was many weeks coming up with a meaningful name for us.

How long have you been designing jewelry and other items from skateboards? How and why did you start?
We have been doing this now for over two years. We are both 'crafty' people, and wanted something to do in our spare time for some spare change. Jann has been working in the recycling industry for over 13 years, so recycling was a must. Jeff has a background in jewelry and also woodworking. It was a lot of fun to do something together.

Where do you get your ideas for the items in your shop?
It comes from everywhere! From what we can actually do with a particular board (they have bends and curves, and also all those breaks), to what we hear from our customers, to what we'd actually want, and also looking at our 'scraps' and seeing how we can make something from them.

If you had to choose just one favorite item in your shop, what would it be and why?
Currently, I think we both love these earrings.
Jeff decided to cut marks into the regular hoop earrings, to give more color to them and show more of the layers. The colors are so pretty together, and the photo came out super sweet. We have been lucky enough to see them grace the front page of Etsy a few times.
Those earrings are my favorites too, and their bracelets are so gorgeous.

2ReVert is giving one of my readers medium 2in1 circle recycled skateboard necklace.

Postcrossing

I joined Postcrossing!
image
“send a postcard and receive a postcard back from a random person somewhere in the world!”

The goal of this project is to allow people to receive postcards from all over the world, for free. Well, almost free! The main idea is that: if you send a postcard, you will receive at least one back from a random Postcrosser from somewhere in the world.

Why? Because, there are lots of people who like to receive real mail. The element of surprise of receiving postcards from different places in the world (many of which you probably have never heard of) can turn your mailbox into a box of surprises - and who wouldn't like that?

I have sent 5 cards (China, Germany, Lithuania, U.S.A, Russia) and 2 direct swaps (U.S.A, Portugal). Let’s see when I’m going to get some postcards :)

Treasure Thursday – 3SistersLove (giveaway) CLOSED

Winner of the first Treasure Thursday and the Adorned You giveaway is:image image
Congratulations Milka! Hope you can wear this ring at your ball :)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Every year, around Christmas time, I’m searching calendars for a new year. Etsy offers so many beautiful calendars, but seems that I have fund my favourites. At least for the 2010.

Today’s treasure comes from three sisters. 3SistersLove is a really cute Etsy shop that sells stationery, calendars, gifts and more.

image
Where does your shop name come from?
We are 3 loving sisters :)

How long have you been designing cards and calendars? How and why did you start?
The oldest sister is an artist and a graphic designer. The middle sister is a painter and a vet student. The youngest is… well… blonde with blue eyes, and she is there to inspire us and bring new ideas!
We’ve been always creative in our daily lives as well as at work. We started our Etsy journey in 2008, creating clay pendants at first. Then from there, using our skills in fine arts and graphics our designs slowly evolved from 3d clay objects to 2d paper goods.

Where do you get your inspiration for the items in your shop?
We are story tellers and get inspired from other creative people that tell stories thru their designs. For example, one of our favorite architects is I.M Pei. In his architecture every viewing angle has depth and tells a story. We think about our designs even before initial sketching phase.

If you had to choose just one favorite item in your shop, what would it be and why?
Our calendar designs are what we are really proud of. We can’t choose between Version 1 and Version 2 because they are both very special to us.

It wasn’t easy to design them as it probably looks. For both versions each month has it’s own concept. Even with different concepts we had to make sure that at the end all 12 months are unified thru color and style of that particular calendar. It’s like putting together a puzzle.

Giveaway!
3SistersLove is giving one lucky reader a 2010 Calendar. Winner can choose between Version 1 and Version 2.

* Giveaway is open worldwide!

Here’s how to enter:

Let's get to know Adorned You better. Here comes something for the Twilight Saga fans!

Where does your shop name come from?
This is where my shop name comes from: It is so much nicer to be adorned than not, so hence the name Adorned You seemed fitting for my Jewelry shop. :D

How long have you been a jewelry artist? How and why did you start?
I have been a Jewelry artist on and off for 20 years. Ever since I was 7 years old I have made beaded jewelry and set up a stand at the end of our driveway. I sold a ring for 25 cents! I took some Jewelry Making and Metalsmithing courses 20 years ago and just loved making jewelry.

Have a look at her beautiful jewelry. I really love her Rose Bud earrings.
AdornedYou_
Where do you get your inspiration for the jewelry in your shop?
I get my inspiration from the gorgeous scenery and nature that surrounds my home, different shapes , colors, and textures.

If you had to choose just one favorite item in your shop, what would it be and why?
My favorite items are The rainbow moonstone bracelet and ring. I love sterling silver and rainbow moonstone and they both really add so much to any outfit.

Looks like you are a big Twilight Saga fan, why do you like these books/movie?
I had a difficult time finding a good book, then one day I stumbled upon Twilight. I couldn't put the book down! Of course after I finished the first book I had to read the three following books, I finished all four books in a month :). Twilight is a great love story. Bella wears pretty jewelry in the saga which I love, and I thought why not make the jewelry she wears and sell it in my shop for other Twilight fans to enjoy.

Giveaway!

Adorned You is giving one of my readers a Sterling Silver Twilight Bella Ring with a real Rainbow Moonstone.
