Where does your shop name come from?
Grace is the mastermind behind our name. Our shop started with our love of crafting and designing, and our media was mainly paper/graphics and fabrics/sewing. Hence, paper and silk. (The name was already in use on Etsy, so we became papersilkmade, since our items are made by paper and silk... you get the idea :D )
How long have you been making headbands? How and why did you start?
Grace and I had been following several blogs on weddings and crafting, and I was always swooning over the headbands and hair accessories (among lots others). Eventually we thought to ourselves, hey maybe we can make those! So we did.
Where do you get your inspiration for the items in your shop?
In the beginning, my inspiration came mainly from blogs that we had been following, but it has shifted over to Etsy. I LOVE looking at people's work on Etsy, and I try my best to respect their designs and not to copy them, but I'm sure my work is influenced by many Etsy creators in some way, shape or form. I always love trying new ideas, using different fabrics and styles, so my headbands are always changing and evolving in little ways.
If you had to choose just one favorite item in your shop, what would it be and why?
This one is one of our mutual favorites , but if I had to pick a favorite headband, it would have to be the Celebration headband. Yes, that's definitely my favorite. :)
Paper & Silk is giving three of my readers a Dainty Floral Ribbon Headband (color of winner’s choice).
